Why is my name required?

TargetRx wants to establish a long-term relationship with the physicians who participate in our on-line studies. To do that we need some basic information – including your name. In the event we wanted to contact you we would need your name and other basic profile information.

Additionally, during the registration process we ask for some basic information regarding your location, your practice, your credentials, your phone number, fax number, e-mail address and mailing address (so we may mail your honoraria to you). This information permits us to contact you only for the studies where your expertise would be of the most value.

Information gathered by TargetRx during the registration process is used ONLY by TargetRx for study related activities. We adhere to a very strict privacy policy. The TargetRx Privacy Policy is also available from a link at the bottom of our home page – www.targetrx.com.

Why do you want my DEA number?

To ensure that it maintains a physician-only website and to limit (as much as possible) the possibility that someone could impersonate a physician, TargetRx requires a DEA number for authentication and verification purposes.

The DEA number is information in the public domain; we have access to the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) database of physician information – a database provided by the US Department of Commerce – which contains a comprehensive record of physician information, including the DEA number.

TargetRx references this database to verify that the DEA numbers provided by registering physicians correspond with the data contained within the database.

PLEASE NOTE: TargetRx uses the DEA number to confirm the validity of a registrant's status as a physician. Additionally, TargetRx does not provide any of its physician information to any other entity for any reason.

Why do you want my e-mail address and Phone/Fax Numbers?

Often we will contact study participants via e-mail. While fax is the method of contact most often used to invite a physician to a study, we sometimes use e-mail as an alternative or additional method to contact those physicians who most closely match the criteria for our on-line studies.

We will only use your phone number to contact you about problems you may be having with one of our on-line studies. We will NOT give out you phone, fax, or e-mail address to any other party.
