Director, Business Development
Currently we are seeking a Director, Business Development who will be ultimately responsible for generating new revenue at assigned accounts
- Reports to Business Development Senior Management
- Compensation: Base salary + Commission + Equity
Primary Responsibilities:
- Holds full business development responsibility for assigned territory with specific accounts (accounts are defined as any franchise or brand where TargetRx is not engaged).
- Generates $3 million (+) in new business development per year.
- Researches and understands the drug franchises and brands of the companies to which they are assigned with a focus on the performance of the franchise/brand with respect to the competitive landscape; targets those franchises/brands that would benefit most from TargetRx services
- Finds and develops new leads through warm/cold calls and meetings, expanding breadth and depth in knowledge of prospect personnel, roles, and business issues.
- Builds relationships with franchise/brand leadership including the GM and heads of sales and marketing - focusing on top to bottom and bottom to top.
- Utilizes the Client Solutions team and senior management to assist in positioning and sales of strategic engagements.
- Responsible for developing and managing a full pipeline of client activity---prospecting, proposing and closing.
- Preparing and executing a business development plan to exceed business development targets.
- Provides input for new product development.
- Responsible for weekly progress reporting against business development targets and other measurement criteria.
- Measured on achieving specific business development targets.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development to Marketing or Sales groups within the Pharmaceutical industry with a demonstrated history of accomplishments.
- Demonstrated success in business development of information/analytic-based products preferred.
- Prior working experience within the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Proven ability to conceptualize strategic market research solutions to client business problems.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a high level of business acumen.
- Demonstrated success working within a dynamic, fast paced organization
- Must be results-oriented and able to prioritize needs.
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills including strong presentation skills.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of SalesForce.com a plus.
- Minimum of a BA/BS degree required.
